Deborah Hertzberg
Deborah Hertzberg has performed in Puppet Playlist.
Deborah is a NY based puppeteer and costumer. She has crafted costumes and puppets for The Muppets (Puppet Heap), Avenue Q (Lyon Puppets), Little Shop of Horrors, Heineken, Optimum On Line, Frogs (Lincoln Center), Greg the Bunny, Blue’s Room, Finding Nemo on Ice, Family Concert Series at Carnegie Hall and many other projects. She created the award winning Nosferatu (NY Fringe Festival Award for Achievement in Puppetry) and her family shadow puppet show Animals in Winter. She has also puppeteered for other artists including director Moises Kaufman and for photographer Laurie Simmons’ film, The Music of Regret. Deborah has a BFA in Acting and an MA in Puppetry both from the University of Connecticut. She has received grants from the Jim Henson Foundation, Puppeteers of America and NYSCA. Currently, Deborah serves as the Costume Shop Supervisor for the Department of Theater at Brooklyn College where she has designed costumes for The House of Bernarda Alba, Spring’s Awakening, Wonder of the World and Suburbia.
