Powerhouse a Finalist for O'Neill Conference

Exciting news! The script for our play Powerhouse has been selected as a finalist for the Eugene O'Neill Center's National Playwrights Festival. Josh, Jon and the entire ensemble are incredibly proud and honored. Since our last public presentation of the show, we've continued to develop the production, and we're looking forward to when we can share our latest work with you. And of course we send a giant congrats to the writers who were selected to attend!

Powerhouse is a collaborative creation by Sinking Ship. The script was written by Josh Luxenberg, the project conceived and directed by Jon Levin and created from research, interviews, improvisations and discussions by Tyler Bunch, Ben Dziuba, Jesse Garrison, Sharone Halevy , Erik Lochtefeld, Clare McNulty, Deborah Radloff, Hanley Smith and Eric Wright, with Joshua Morris.

Powerhouse uses music, swing dance, puppetry and physical comedy to take an impressionist look at the life, ideas and music of Raymond Scott, a brilliant but now mostly forgotten popular music composer and electronic music pioneer.
